Celebrating Genius in Every Corner of the World

Join us as we uncover the hidden brilliance in the most unexpected places, bringing you stories that inspire and amaze.

The Journey of "It’ll Never Work?"

“It’ll Never Work?” was born in 1993 from a passion for uncovering the untold stories of innovation and creativity. Originally a BAFTA-winning series on BBC1 from 1993-98, the team travelled the world uncovering brilliance, mayhem and people who never said never…but since then, many stories have gone untold.

Thirty years on, some of the original team have set out to find more unsung heroes, those untold stories and a fair bit of craziness along the way!  Our platform is dedicated to those who push boundaries and redefine what’s possible, one idea at a time.

Our Journey Through Time

It’ll Never Work began as a simple idea to spotlight the (sometimes crazy) brilliance behind everyday ideas.  It has now grown into a platform that celebrates innovation and creativity.

Filming begins

In 1993, Roy Milani put together an amazing team of young film makers who produced a new TV series about innovations…genius, quirky and downright ridiculous!  Filming began in the UK & USA.

First Episode Launch

A few months later, INW? hit the screens, at 4:35pm every Tuesday on BBC1 and 8:35am on BBC2 on Wednesdays.  Only available in the UK at first, it soon sold worldwide.

Finding our audience

So it turned out that everyone loves tales of endeavour, everyone loves great ideas…and so stories about interesting people having great ideas and the incredible journeys to bring those to fruition, win hearts and minds, awards and some very very lovely mail bag letters 🙂

More to be done!

In 2023, the original team got a bit nostalgic on our 30th anniversary and wondered…if “It’ll Never Work?” came to life again now, how would it look?
So here we are, off around the world again, visiting cities and rural neighbourhoods, giant corporations and back yards, wherever genius can be found.
